Background
Nexus Global Payments (NGP) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, incorporated in Singapore in March 2025. NGP was established to own, maintain and manage the Nexus scheme – a multilateral initiative to enable instant, secure, and efficient cross-border payments by interconnecting Instant Payment Systems (IPS) worldwide. NGP is currently owned by central banks in participating countries (India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand). As NGP approaches go-live in late 2027, near-term success will depend on disciplined execution across multiple workstreams, clear coordination across business, technology, compliance, risk, legal, finance, and external partner stakeholders, and the ability to translate complex delivery progress into concise updates for senior management and governance forums.
